Screen Printing
What is screen printing?
Simply put, screen printing is the most common type of t-shirt decoration.
In this process, a screen is first created and loaded on to the press, one screen for each color of ink in the design. If the design requires multiple colors, the screens are then aligned perfectly in respect to each other.
The process for creating the screens and aligning them is very time consuming and plays a role in the final cost.
A shirt is then loaded on to a specially shaped board and the screen is lowered on to it.
Ink is then squeegeed through the open parts of the screen and therefore prints on to the garment. Heat is applied to “dry” the ink before other colors can be applied.
After all of the colors have been printed, the entire design is then heated to 350 degrees. At this degree, the ink fully cures and becomes very durable.
Screen printed inks are as stronger or stronger that the material they are printed on and will last for a very long time.
PROS:

- Excellent Durability
CONS:
- Can become expensive in limited quantities
- Limited amount of colors per design
